Rithvik Ramesh, BA
I received my BA in Anthropology and Neuroscience in 2022 from Washington University in St. Louis, where I studied the intersections of culture, behavior, and health as a member of the Medicine and Society Program. During that time, I conducted research at UCSF on the neural circuitry of learned anxiety behavior in mouse models, as well as human neuroimaging research at WashU investigating the associations between atrophy, lesion topographies, and disability in multiple sclerosis. Fascinated by the potential for neuromodulation to address network pathologies, I now help identify personalized neural biomarkers of naturalistic movement states, such as walking and turning, for adaptive deep brain stimulation architecture. When I am not aligning accelerometer data, I can be found dreaming about being on The Amazing Race, coaching my underdog fantasy football team, and paper quilling.
