Maria Yaroshinsky
I received my BA in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, where I did undergraduate research in the Laboratory for Computational Cognitive Neuroscience directed by Professor Greg Ashby. During my time there I studied the basic mechanisms of human learning with the goals to understand the underlying perceptual, cognitive, and neural processes, and to test neurobiologically detailed computational models. During my undergrad, I also supported the Theoretical and Applied Neurocausality Laboratory testing unconscious knowledge of stimuli via EEG. I’m fascinated by neuroscience, and from personally having seen the effects of neurodegenerative disorders on a person’s day-to-day life and those around them, I’m eager to gain a deeper understanding of the processes and potential treatments behind these disorders.
